Hello Xangans, the Wolf has returned to bring another occasional post, in which detailing and reminding people I have not yet fallen off the face of this Earth.
In this post, I'm going to get straight to the point. What's up with the famous deaths last month? It seemed like the Grim Reaper decided that June would be the perfect month to fill it with famous deaths. CRAZY STUFF! Of course, by far the most popular being Michael Jackson. Okay, in all honesty, he was a bit of a wack-job at times...but his music was alright. I loved Thriller (who doesn't?) and Beat It. I mean, how many pop icons can say they acquired guitar legend Eddie Van Halen to solo on your track? Anyways, in the same day, you had the passing of an original "Charlie's Angel", Farrah Faucett (Hope I spelled that right, correct me if I'm wrong.) Okay, I never saw the original Charlie's Angels, but, she famous, so I had to mention her. Okay, you also had Ed McMahon (Again, hope I spelled it right), who passed away as well. Some of you older Xangans may know of him from the Johnny Carson show. I may not have been old enough to see the show in it's hayday, but I've seen some of it. And one mysterious, but famous death, David Carradine. I've heard some pretty weird shit for this passing, and I don't really want to recite any of those I've heard. And finally...."Hi, Billy Mays here..."....Yeah, the loud, bearded "pitchman" Billy Mays. This was as unexpected as MJ. Personally, I liked the fact that in an interview, he said he enjoyed his job as a "pitchman". It's good to know that people doing commercials are sometimes happy doing just that....commercials!
On a lighter note, I've been in a Metallica crazy lately, and some Iron Maiden thrown in there. I don't know about everyone else, but I enjoy all of their albums, from Kill 'Em All (or Metal Up Your Ass, if people want to think back to the original proposed album title), to ...And Justice For All, to the "Black Album", to St. Anger. Now, I'm probably going to get bashed and slashed for saying St. Anger. But hey, I was, and still am, in a band with my friend, and some of his music's not exactly Heavy Metal anymore, so you know, people can change and experiment over time. Despite the steely snare of the title track, it's a good song. Albeit, there are no guitar solos in the whole album, but you know, maybe it's not all about the riffs and solos, sometimes you have to voice what's going on.
Um...well, I have to get up, in roughly about six and a half hours, so I should go and hit the sack.
Catcha next time, Chris Axl Wolf.
